24 RWs in Thousand Islands Participate in Proklim Competition at Regency Level

As many as 24 RWs in Thousand Islands participated in Climate Village Program (Proklim) at regency level held by Thousand Islands Environment (LH) Sub-agency.
Those 24 RWs are located in 6 urban villages in Thousand Islands Regency
Thousand Islands LH Sub-agency Head, Djoko Rianto Budi Hartono conveyed, Proklim assessment has been carried out since October 2020.
"Those 24 RWs are located in 6 urban villages in Thousand Islands Regency. Currently, the assessment is entering the verification stage for 8 RWs that passed into the final," he said, Friday (11/6).
RW 03 Kelapa Gading Timur Achieves Kampung Proklim 2019 AwardThose 8 RWs are RW 01 and 02 of Untung Jawa Island Urban Village; RW 01, 02, 03, and 04 of Tidung Island Urban Village; RW 02 of Pari Island Urban Village; and RW 01 of Panggang Island Urban Village.
"We will announce the winner on the 19th Thousand Islands Anniversary event," he added.
He expected Proklim competition can encourage residents in each RWs in total 6 urban villages of Thousand Islands to take a part in greening their region and preventing climate change.
"If this program is carried out seriously, including reforestation and urban farming, surely it not only prevents the impact of climate change, but also supports Thousand Islands to ensure food security," he asserted.
